15-January-2016 Winter Hike, Terra-Cotta Park
This evening we put into practice some of the elements discussed the previous week. Spending the meeting outdoor hiking around Terra-Cotta Park in Pointe-Claire. This was a good opportunity to remind the Cub Scouts about “Leave No Trace” and “Roll Call” – as well as pointing flashlights at the ground….
We had 20 Cub Scouts out for the hike – pointing out squirrel & rabbit tacks, throwing snowballs into the stream and enjoying a nice winter evening.
You can find a map of the hiking paths at the park here: Terra-cotta Paths
From the main entrance, we hiked to way-point 14 and proceeded in a counter-clockwise direction, taking the yellow path at way-point 10. At way-point 5 we stopped for a snack and continued on to #3 and along the orange path to way-point 16, returning to our starting point for closing.
